Radia Marie Fletcher - Brown

Radia Marie Fletcher Brown, 60, of Atkins, departed this life Saturday, October 23, 2010, at St. Mary’s Hospital, Russellville, Arkansas.

She was born May 19, 1950, in Atkins, Arkansas and was the daughter of the late Cullen Fletcher Sr. and Radia Willis Fletcher. She was one of twelve children. She was a member of the Pilgrim Rest No. 2 Baptist Church in Happy Bend Community, Atkins, Arkansas; where she was a faithful member and served as President of the Women’s Missionary Society.

For more than ten years, Radia Marie was employed with the Area Agency on Aging. During Marie’s journey, she had become a Certified Nurse Assistant.  She also was a reporter for the Atkins Chronicle.

Radia Marie leaves to cherish her memory, two brothers,  Cullen “Jackie” Fletcher Jr.   of Chicago, Illinois and  Bobby Fletcher (Georgia) of Russellville, Arkansas; five sisters,  Marion Fletcher and  Jophelia Boston (Johnny) of Chicago, Illinois, Gwendolyn O’Neal (Cleo) of Atkins, Arkansas, Velmar Greene (Kenneth) of Ft. Smith, Arkansas, Deborah Chapman (William) of Columbus, Ohio; Three Aunts,  Elvira Cowely of Kansas City, Missouri,  Ernestine Robertson of Morrilton, Arkansas, and Nithia L. Upshaw of Chicago, Illinois; one Uncle, Jones Fletcher Jr. of Chicago, Illinois and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Gloribell Fletcher and three brothers, Lemuel Fletcher, Rudolph Fletcher and Alford Leion Fletcher.
Funeral services 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 30, 2010 Pilgrim Rest No. 2 Baptist Church, Atkins, AR. Visitations 1-6 p.m. Friday at Larry G. Acklin Funeral Home, Morrilton. Interment Rose of Sharon Cemetery in Blackwell, Ar. Arrangements entrusted to Larry G. Acklin Funeral Home, Morrilton. "IN YOUR TIME OF NEED....WE CARE."

When the Lord is ready for us to come home it is our duty to obey. Marie is with the Lord now and we all know what a glorious place that is. Gwen you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Marie was a wonderful person.
